2018 New Year’s Resolutions

If you made New Year’s Resolutions for 2018, let the Friends of the Troy Public Library help you accomplish them.  We can help you to help us to help the Library. Winter Solstice & Holiday Weekend Schedule

Celebrate the Winter Solstice with a book, game or CD from our Book Shop.  Most titles priced at $1 or less. While you’re at it, finish last minute holiday shopping in our Gift Shop. Special Holiday Shopping Hours on Wednesday December 20

Special hours on Wednesday December 20 for last minute holiday shopping.  The Friends Book Shop will be open 3-7 PM.  Located on the lower level of Troy Public Library, 90% of the inventory is priced at $1 or less (and even some of those will be discounted!).  We’ll be giving away some special prizes to lucky shoppers, too. Our Friends Gift Shop will also be open until 7PM on Wednesday. Enjoy some great deals on used books, recorded media and memorable gifts while supporting the Troy Public Library.

This FREE event returns to the Troy Civic Center Campus with new special features! Start the night at the south entrance of City Hall along West Big Beaver Road for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at 6:30 pm. Throughout the evening, move on to the Troy Public Library and Troy Community Center to participate in fun activities for the whole family. Special this year, activities geared for ages 5 and under will take place at the Library and activities for 5 and above will take place at the Community Center. Dress warmly and we’ll see you there !

The Friends have been given the “green light” to reopen! We welcome you back! We re-opened August 14, 2021! The Friends operate two unique shops right in the Troy Public Library! Join Programs and Groups

The Friends promote and support the Troy Public Library, and we have done so for over fifty years!  That means we provide the funding for the programming and enhancements at the library. Every time you attend a program or presentation for youth or adults, or use materials and enhancements (like the meeting room or lobby furniture!), we’ve provided the funding to make that possible!
