The Friends have been given the “green light” to reopen! We welcome you back!
We re-opened August 14, 2021!
The Friends operate two unique shops right in the Troy Public Library!
Watch this video for a comprehensive overview of our operations from Board Member Lou Wassel (click here!).
Friends Book Shop Saturdays 10AM-1PM and Sundays 1-4PM
Located on the lower level of the Troy Public Library, the Book Shop is open every weekend. You’ll find thousands of items in various categories, from our youngest readers to adult-aged book lovers. Organized by subject, we carry a large variety of fiction in hardcover, trade paperback, and pocket paperback sizes, as well as audio fiction. Our non-fiction subjects span every interest, and we have a large selection of audio-visual materials, including CD’s and DVD’s.
Most items are priced at $1.00 or less and are hand-selected by our hard-working volunteers to provide you the highest quality materials.
Friends Gift Shop: Hours for our Lobby Friends Gift shop will vary depending on the availability of volunteers to work.
Located in the library lobby, across from the Circulation Desk, the Gift Shop has a great selection of unique gift items for adults, teens and children, including:
- Jewelry
- Fashion accessories
- Greeting cards, stationery and gift bags
- School and office supplies
- Toys and games
- Decorative home decor
- “Emergency” items like batteries, umbrellas, sewing kits, ear buds and reading glasses
For your convenience, the Friends Shop also carries a limited selection of used books, music CDs and movies on Blu Ray and DVD’s. Proceeds from both of our shops support all the programming and various library enhancements.
Volunteer with us! We always welcome volunteers to help us work in our shops. Shifts are flexible, and the library is a great place for high school students (16 years or older) to earn community service credit. Join us today!
