As a reminder, our Friends Shop will remain open through Sunday December 23 for your last minute gift and card shopping. That Shop will then close for new carpet installation until Monday January 21, 2019.

HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS? The Friends of the Troy Public Library’s used Book Shop located on the lower level of the Troy Public Library is getting a face lift! New carpeting, new paint, and ALL-NEW SHELVING are on the way!!! Additionally, our Gift Shop located across from the Circulation Desk is also getting new carpeting. In fact, the entire Troy Public Library will be closed from January 2-20, 2019 so new carpet can be installed in the Adult Services area, Technology Center, Circulation, Technical Services, main meeting room and conference room. The Friends are well known for promoting and supporting the Troy Public Library for over 55 years. But our legacy is not limited to the walls of the Library, or the borders of Troy, Michigan. Friends’ outreach efforts also help advance literacy, enrich quality of life, and improve learning in schools, assisted living centers and many other worthy organizations throughout Southeastern Michigan. As recently as last week, the Friends donated 65 boxes of used books and other media to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Detroit for distribution to needy children. Special Program – An Evening with Outlander
Thursday, November 15, 6:00 – 8:30 PM The Kilgour Scottish Center, 2363 Rochester Road, Troy, MI 48083 Outlander is a television drama based on author Diana Gabaldon’s historical time travel book series of the same name.
