The Friends of the Troy Public Library’s used Book Shop located on the lower level of the Troy Public Library is getting a face lift! New carpeting, new paint, and ALL-NEW SHELVING are on the way!!! Additionally, our Gift Shop located across from the Circulation Desk is also getting new carpeting.
In fact, the entire Troy Public Library will be closed from January 2-20, 2019 so new carpet can be installed in the Adult Services area, Technology Center, Circulation, Technical Services, main meeting room and conference room. Accordingly, the Friends Gift Shop will be closed from December 23, 2018 – January 20, 2019.
The Friends Book Shop will close after business on Sunday December 16th and won’t re-open again until late February or March.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING DATES
- Monday December 10 – Last day we are accepting public donations of used books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, etc. We will alert you when donations may resume. Save your items since we will need them when it’s time to re-open.
- Wednesday December 12 – Special Evening Sale in Book Shop from 3:30-7:30PM.
- Saturday and Sunday December 15 / 16 – Final weekend that Book Shop will be open prior to renovation. You won’t want to miss this Special Sale. Normal weekend hours will be in effect: Sat 10AM-1PM and Sun 1-4PM.
- Sunday December 23 – Last day of operations for Gift Shop until January 21, 2019
We are excited about the changes. The Book Shop will have a new layout as well as a fresh new décor for an improved shopping experience … and room for MORE BOOKS! Please watch for news about our grand re-opening sale, featuring a completely new inventory, new look, and volunteers ready to help you find that perfect book.
