This weekend, we invite you to join us in honoring the freedom to read. Our Center Table is overflowing with banned and challenged books, leaving almost no empty space! These books have faced restrictions or outright bans in various places over the years, both in the United States and around the world. Each comes with a brief explanation of why it was banned, offering insights that might astonish you.
The Friends stand with the Troy Public Library in fully endorsing the freedom of individuals to choose what they want to read or leave sitting on the shelf. We respect differing viewpoints and encourage open and respectful conversations about the importance of intellectual freedom.
In addition to our Center Table promotion, check out our special cart of Horror novels to get you into the Spooky Spirit, along with several carts filled with games and puzzles for all ages. Our wide inventory includes gently-used fiction and non-fiction books of all genres, magazines, CDs, DVDs, games, and jigsaw puzzles, most priced at $1 or less.
Remember, proceeds from our sales support special programming and other important initiatives at the Troy Public Library. Visit us on the lower level of the Library this Saturday from 10AM-1PM and Sunday from 1PM-4PM.

Our thanks to Verena and our Book Shop volunteers for the photos, organization, and stocking!
