The Friends of the Troy Public Library are thrilled to celebrate the arrival of our brand-new Bookmobile! This library-on-wheels is set to roll through your neighborhoods, parks, schools, and events, bringing over 1,000 books and other materials as well as wealth of library services right to your doorstep.
We are incredibly proud to have contributed $25,000 towards this fantastic Bibliobus, thanks to a generous grant from the Michigan Nonprofit Relief Fund. Huge shoutouts to the Michigan Nonprofit Association, Troy Chamber of Commerce, and Advancing Macomb Nonprofit Roundtable for their invaluable assistance in guiding us through the process. It was truly a team triumph, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
Oh! And one more thing: The Friends also pitched in an additional $10,000 to stock the Bookmobile with its initial collection of books. [After all, what’s a Bookmobile without books? 😉]
This contribution aligns perfectly with the Friends’ mission of promoting literacy and extending outreach. We also want to acknowledge the tireless efforts of our amazing volunteer corps (We are an all-volunteer nonprofit.) along with the wonderful patrons who shop at our two Book Shops. Your support makes all the difference!
Join us for the grand ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 12 at 5:15 PM at Jeanne M. Stine Community Park on the Civic Center Campus during the Troy Family Daze Touch-A-Truck event. Come see the Bookmobile up close, meet the team, and celebrate this exciting new chapter with us!
Buckle Up, Troy – the Library is hitting the road, and driving all of us to a brighter future!
